Bonne nouvelle !! Notre job saisonnier de trois mois ici a déjà porté ses fruits : deux jours à peine après avoir déposé notre demande sur Internet, notre prolongation de visa d'un an a été accordée ! En d'autres termes, notre visa nous permet maintenant de rester en Australie pour 2 ans ! Tout se passe comme prévu, et plus rapidement que nous avions espéré.
Good news!! Our three months long seasonal job has already paid off: just two days after our online application, we've been granted a second one-year visa! Which means, we now have a valid visa for 2 years straight in Australia! Everything is going according to plans, and even quicker than we expected.
On a fini notre dernier jour de travail lundi dernier, le 9 mai, et on a profité de la semaine pour se reposer, faire les papiers, planifier le voyage... et déjà le départ est prévu pour demain matin !
Our last day of work was last Monday -the 9th of May- and we used the past week to rest, do the paperwork, plan the trip... and we're already leaving tomorrow morning!
Notre but : être à Darwin le 7 juillet pour prendre l'avion pour Paris. D'ici là, Brisbane, Cairns, la barrière de corail, les Îles Witsundays, et les plages... Et puis ensuite un grand tour dans l'outback entre Cairns et Darwin.
We're aiming at being in Darwin on the 7th of July to catch the plane to Paris. Until then: Brisbane, Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef, the Witsunday Islands, and the beaches... and then a long trip in the Outback between Cairns and Darwin.
On quitte les collines de Killarney avec un pincement au coeur : on y laisse Maureen, qui nous a loué sa maison, et Bel (Maria Isabel), une collègue devenue une amie.
We're leaving the hills of Killarney feeling a twinge of sadness: we're leaving here Maureen, our so kind landlord, and Bel (Maria Isabel), a former coworker who's become a friend.
On espère en tout cas revoir encore des wallabies, des ornithorynques et des paysages aussi beaux qu'ici !
Let's hope we make other encounters with wallabies and platypus, and see landscapes as beautiful as in here!
